    Riding in Carlsbad

I'm on a vacation in Carlsbad Ca and was wondering about trails in the area. Any trails are fine short of full on downhill runs. Thanks

La Costa preserve and Calaveras will be closest. La Costa is nice and it has a new trail called copper canyon. Lake hodges in Escodido is also poplular and about 30 minutes away. Just google them or check the link above.

NASCAR is a fun ride. When your moving pretty smoothly you can make it from the view point to the road in about 6 mins. But the hike/ride is only 2 miles if you want to do it multiple times. I will be out there Saturday and Sunday if your still around pm me and we can meet up. I hike my dh to the top and ride NASCAR down

I've biked and hiked La Costa many times, but this is the first I heard of Copper Canyon...is it on the current signage there or website???

Yes, it is on the East side. Just take the fire road to the gate and make a left up the single track. From there take the spur on the right and keep taking the right options. Used to be off limits, but has not been opened to the public. You can use it to link the other water tower or even all the way to Eflin/Hodges. Your ride length is really only limited by your imagination.

Copper Canyon also gives you the option of riding in from the dump side.
