    Riding between Bishop and Anaheim?

    So this Norcal girl's husband is working in Bishop the next couple years...we're used to riding Downieville, Lake Tahoe stuff but are up for anything.

    We're headed to Anaheim next Thursday for the Metallica concert at the Pond and taking a long weekend to make our way back up to Bishop. Can anyone direct us to some good rides on the drive back? We've got DH, AM or singlespeed options...just looking to ride something cool that we haven't seen before.

    Thanks for any tips!

    I think the weather and time of year is going to be working against you, but here's a few ideas.
    -Spend an extra day or two in OC; ride somewhere in the Laguna Beach area or one of the inland parks. Maybe do some rides in the National forest there - San Juan Trail maybe..
    -Check out trails up around Big Bear - not the ski areas but multi-use in the National forest;
    -Southern Sierra, drive up to Kennedy Meadows; there are some multi-use trails up there just south of the Golden Trout wilderness. There can be motorcycles, but usually not a lot, and the trails and scenery are great.

    Lake Isabella

    I don't know how many trails are open up there right now but you can give Mountain and River adventures and they'll let you know. If possible try Cannell plunge; if theres snow at the top you might be able to start at the mid point and still get to make the plunge.

    HC is right. The weather will be nasty next week. Rain every day and snow down to 4000ft. There are some great trails here in the Antelope Valley (Lancaster/Palmdale) like Devil's Punchbowl, Joshua Ranch and some other perfect cycling trails. Kennedy mdw. is good and the Kern Plateau OHV area is too. The best stuff will have too much snow. I'm available the 12th and 13th if you want to try some trails around here. You'll have some great trails around Bishop when the snow's gone. Enjoy the 2 yrs!
