The reason I ask is that were planning the family camping trip at either of these 2 spots. More likely headed to Cachuma since there is more to do there aside from riding. fishing/swimmin/wine tasting/small casino/Solvang etc, so please let me know some trailes. But along Kern would be ok too but Im more interested in camping in the sequias and riding through the beautiful trees. SO if you know of a tent campground close to ride spots, that be awesome. Thanks!!

Lots of excellent riding options in the Kern valley (Search for Cannell Plunge, Just Outstanding to get you started). As far as I am concerned the best single track ride through the Big Trees is the Camp Nelson trail from Quaking Aspen campground (north of the Kern valley area on CA route 190). Many other good rides available in the area too (Freeman Grove trail heads through a Sequoia grove as well). Search through this forum and you should find plent of good information.

Cachuma puts you near some or the really good Santa Barbara backcountry rides though. Hopefully the SB locals will chime in.

Have fun!
