    Palomar trails?

Lately I've been heading over to Palomar Mountain southeast of Temecula pretty frequently for work, and it seems like the whole area would be just ripe for some awesome trails. Can anyone recommend anything in the vicinity? Maybe even on the mountain itself? I've heard you can climb up Nate Harrison, but that doesn't exactly sound like a captivating ride.

Nice write up of Nate Harrison grade and other trails in the surrounding area.

NOTE: I've driven up NH grade, would not want to ride up it at all....until you get near the top (tree line).

Yeah, Nate Harrison is for people who like to climb. If that's not you then you'll be bored.

You might find some trails near the Observatory or in Done Valley but it's on state park land and you'll need an adventure pass. I'm not sure if there are extensive trails in those areas.

Have you ridden Vail Lake? There are some nice trails there.

If you don't mind the drive, Hurkey Creek is only 30 mins from Vail Lake. Some of the best trails in SoCal.
