    mt. wilson pancake breakfast

just a heads up- the mt. wilson pancake breakfast is happening on sunday, april 10th at millard campground- not the first choice location, but it looks like the road to henninger flats is going to be closed for months, and we got sick of postponing everything over and over again. so far, there's some great stuff for the raffle, and more is rolling in every day- all the info is at www.pasadenacyclery.com, and we're updating the prize list every few days. hope to see everyone there!

You could park here and ride your bike up Chaney Trail (very steep paved road) and down into Millard Campground.
    Or...
Park at JPL ride up to the Lower Brown Mountain Saddle and then take the other fire road down into Millard Campground. Once the festivities are done you can take the fire roads back or take Chaney trail out to Loma Alta and then city streets for a 5 minute ride back to your car.

I live a block away from Chaney so I'll probably ride down to JPL and then up and over into Millard. It's longer that way but it's part of my 16 mile before work loop.

It means I didn't think about that route. I last rode it Friday and there was still trail damage but most was ridable - a lot of trail work has been put into it. The biggest obstacle was a large tree that cuts off one switchback.

El P is still pretty jacked up but is mostly rideable. only 1 part was definitely not rideable as there is a tree laying across the trail.

you can ride up from jpl, or you can take the lower sam merrill trail to the sunset ridge trail (very fun singletrack). pick up a flyer at a bike store (we have them at pasadena cyclery or you can find them at any store in the area), and you can read some ride suggestions on the back.

ps- brent foes gave me a foes fxr frame today for the raffle. how's that for a grand prize?
