Mission Trails gear ratio and tire suggestions?

    Hey all-

I ride a ss hardtail set up for urban street riding most of the time. I went out to Mission Trails today and had a lot of fun. Right now i'm pushing 36/16 gearing, I had to get off and push on some of the ascents which I did'nt mind too much, but would like to stay on the bike more on the tough climbs.

Does anybody have a good ratio that they like to run out there, i would prefer to only change the cog, so any a suggestions or preferences to running a 17 vs. 18t cog out there?

Also I could use some good tire recommendations.

    Thanks in advance. Ride safe!

is what I usually run and I can make 80% of rhe hills . when I had a 21 on the back I could make them with ease but spun out rather quickly on everything else so 18 or 19 is the happy middle.
    Humble self-proclaimed nothing.
