I'll try to roll by the shop this week. What day will you be there?

Saturday (Midnight Madness) is a messenger race at 7pm starting at the entrance to Paradise Point. Logistically I am not sure where to start the MM. There is a "tennis" party before the MM. Most of the poachers will roll out from there. If the messenger race ends at 9pm then I'll be in the Madness area around 10 or 11ish.

I plan on winning! I know the area. I just suck. Man, I hope it doesn't go to the cross.

There will be over 2000 riders with number plates. Maybe 500 without.

Of course, in any organized bike event one would see a Johnny Racerboy, or 20. There is also "Rock n Roll speaker trailer guy", the "tow-every-family-member-in-those-kid-trailers-team". I am sure super tandems will be there. Unicycles. All the messengers on the fixies.

The course is pretty flat. I think the only hill is coming up thru Old Town (not Juan St.) going toward Middle Town (Kettner).

Bring a lock in case there is bar crawling. Last year we stopped at a navy bar on Rosecrans that was run by some hot Vietnamese chicks. I think that they have been hot for at least 30 years. Too bad the broads getting sauced weren't behind the bar and the hot chicks were on our side. Later we stopped at the "old Casbah". I imagine that the group I ride with will stop at one bar. Even though some of us will ba carrying bulk personals.

It was a rough day. Checked out the new trail at Cuyamaca (becuase Morena is still closed). B-day party at 2pm. Got back at 5pm to actually build my tropical trailer.

Made it to the messenger race at 7pm. I finally won one! Got home at 9pm. Rested while eating some cheese cubes. Loaded up the Cherokee.

Left PB at 10:15 to get to the Tennis Party (the official start of the Midnight Madness!) at 30th and Adams.

18 pack of MGD, 6 mai tais, 5 lbs of ice, Yakima's bOB trailer, 20 lbs palm tree. One size too small vintage Klein. So small that when I raised the handle bars to suit me I had to leave the front brakes open. I am kinda surprised that the U-brak e held out.

Almost went down on Harbor. MAN! The setup is HEAVY. I think I strained some intermals trying to keep that thing upright.
Made it to the first stop. Used to be the Fling. It is a navy/Filipino bar. "You buy drink now!?" Never mad it to the 2nd.

I scored at flat at MCRD. No gas! Wife picked me up around 3am.

    It was a fun day.

    I think I have a double hernia

I think I'll let it ride. Nothing is squishing out yet.
