Marshall Canyon and Potoato Mountan attacked by bulldozer

In case you are headed to Marshall or Potato this weekend the bulldozer has been busy this week and the trail is hazardous in many areas. This mainly affects the lower part of Potato before the turn off to Palmer Canyon and the double track that connects the Claremont Wilderness Park with upper Marshall Canyon. At this point it looks like the single track has been spared but in the past they have graded that too.

There are large deep sandy areas in most of the curves and loose sand over rock resulting in very hazardous conditions...

That's been happening all over the range recently. The fire dept is just maintaining the fire roads. It will all be packed down nicely in a week or so after some tires and feet roll over it.

I hope you are correct but in the past the dozers have created hazards around here that did not go away until the rains returned.

That's also true. You have to learn or create "new lines".

That would be a motor grader, not a bull dozer, if that matters. Most of the roads get this treatment, time to time, not to piss off us bikers, but rather so they can get fire equipment up to the fire lines if need be, hopefully we'll get some rain this summer to pack thing down.
