    Mammoth mtb trails for family

Any fun trails for the kids and family? I will have my son on with a trailer bike and my wild dog as well. The wife and daughter are beginners, and the daughter gets tire real quick. We plan to camp at Sherwin Creek.

I think it would be fun to ride up to Laurel Lakes, but don't think the rest of the family are up for it. I think Mammoth mtn is out. I'd rather go to some out of the way places. I'm sure there are some trails around sherwin creek.

    Thanks Bill

In the uphill direction, Laurel Lakes is more of a hike than a ride.
Go to Footloose sports and ask for some trail recommendations.
There are rides for family + dog in the Shady Rest area.
You can also check out Inyo Craters+ Panorama Dome + Mammoth Rock.
Panorama Dome area just had trails cleared and new singletrack connectors opened up.
Also check out the top two sections of Lower Rock creek.
You can ride with family + dog on the lower sections of Uptown + Downtown before the bike park boundary-It's about a 4 mile loop. Best done in the evenings or early mornings when bike park traffic is at a minimum..

There's also a nice network of paved trails around town. The route up Lake Mary Road has some great views.

Horseshoe Lake for sure. Great trails that will support towing a trailer, even (I did).

Horeshoe is great, nice flat trails and a good loop. I have also done the shady rest ride with my dogs, that was a good one too.

The cool thing about horseshoe is you can take a break and go swimming:

THis is two years ago, I was about 50lbs heavier at the time. There was heavy snowfall that year so the water was ice cold. there was literally a snowbank running off the hillside into the water right out of frame.

I'm going up next month, second week of July, with my 10 year old son. We are bringing our Ventana tandem as well as our single bikes. Planning on riding alot on the mountain as well as some off mountain trails. Mammoth is a great place for kids/ families, the trails on the mountain, most are not condusive to using a trail a bike though, but the other trails mentioned are great.
