Long Weekend Camp / Ride Late Sept... Ideas?

I'm planning a quick little three day get-away within 2-3 hours drive of LA/OC. We'd prefer to ride primarily singletrack, not afraid to climb, and would prefer either challenging tech or flowy descents (like who doesnt?). It would be nice to get out of the bone dry kitty litter trails and into at least a little 'good' dirt.

    Considering Idyllwild... any opinions?

    How about Camp Nelson?

Hurkey Creek would have been my first choice, but I've lost track of the trail conditions (and which are even open) after the recent fire. The campground is great, though, and it's an easy connect to the IDY trail system.

Stay in Kernville, ride the Cannell trail one day then Just Outstanding trail the next.

I would vote for Camp Nelson lots of options and great sierra dirt with real huge sequoia trees! Tofiq and his wife run a great shuttle and have cabins too. Kernville might be affected by a recent fire. Big Bear should be great too since the rains- lots of options outside of the park-
