Little Pine Santa Barbara Trail Conditions??

Has anybody ridden Little Pine or Santa Cruz trail since this months re-opening of the burn area?

I have heard conflicting stories on whether or not the trail is still rideable, but not from anyone who has acutally been there after the fire.

One friend I talked to said it's in good shape. Others, not so much.

Hope to go find out this weekend. I'll be sure to report back.

From the pictures, it appears that someone from SoCal rode it.

No mention of conditions, but the sixth picture looks like the trail off the top, in rough shape.

    any weekend updates?

Anyone get out that way lately? A buddy is talking up Little Pine to Santa Cruz trails, but we are not local and would love to know conditions first.

So, a group of us rode Santa Cruz trail to Little Pine Mtn this Saturday and the trail was in the best shape I've seen it yet.

Did you ride up it, or down after climbing the fireroad?

    Glad to hear it's good.

    Really Nice Shape

As a result of this thread, rode this trail on Thursday morning (5/1)- rode the single track both on the climb and the descent. Trail is in excellent condition- still heaps of flowers, and it's very cool to ride up into the fire zone. As good as I've ever seen it.

    Regards,

    jb

All I can say is wow! Big group of us went up yesterday to celebrate the end of bachelor life for one of us. First time I had been in the backcountry since the fire. Weather was perfect. Trail was great. Flowers were abundant (too abundant in one spot). Company was great. Now is a great time to be up there.

I'm guessing you're referring to the mustard and lupine in the upper meadow? I would have cleaned the whole enchilada (climbing the single track) but for getting my bars stuck there- ah, well...

Glad to hear you had a good time!

    Regards,

    jb

That would be the spot. Nice job on the climb up. May have to try that soon.

Congrats on the win! I'm guessing the weather was similar to down here, which was perfect.

You gonna be at Chamberlin Ranch this weekend?
