I raced the Knobby Tire on Thursday. It was a smaller crowd but I had a blast. They changed the course a little. Next race in on two weeks. Be There!

    saw your blog....congrats on 2nd
i was in the same category and got 5th. i was dying

got a taste of it and realized i am far from being competitive so i don't think i'll make it to the next one. plus, i'd have to leave work early again and drive almost 2 hours in rush hour traffic to get there

i did have fun and it seemed like a great group and the race was well organized.
oh, and the trophies were pretty cool

Don't get discouraged. Racing will only make you faster on group rides, other races, amongst your friends and etc. I started racing late last year as a way to get faster. I was tired of getting dropped on group rides or rides with my buddies.

I still get dropped from time to time but racing really helps. Racing has helped my speed, and technical skills.

    Keep racing!

    appreciate the words of encouragement!

i'll probably try it again after i get a few more miles on my legs........i've only put a total of250 miles on my bike! i used to race road and track as a junior.....i turned 39 last month. i probably haven't ridden more than 20 miles over the last 8 years since my oldest daughter was born. about 4 months ago, a friend and i decided to pick up new bikes and i just wanted to get a taste of racing again. now that i got put in my place, i know that i have a long way to go

but i'll see if i can do it again next week. next year i'll be with the 40+ age group and i know those guys aren't any slower!

    good luck next week.

Just posted up on STR that race 5 & 6 have been cancelled.

    Knobby Time #5 & #6 "CANCELLED"
I crashed hard enough on my Tallboy to break my leg,
The carbon is way more durable than most people.

Cursor I saw you at Race# 5. At the line I nodded a hello. It was another great race. Looks like a few more people showed up too.

BTW, did you go to Claremont High School?

Yes I took 2nd Place again. Just two seconds slower than 1st place. I think I improved my overall time by 1:28. It was close between 1st, 2nd and 3rd,

Course was the same, just marked much better.

    See you Sept 1st.
