    Kernville Trails-Snow????

I live in Bishop CA, and the trail riding is quite limited now that Mammoth is all snowy.

It looks like Lake Isabelle trails would be the closest good riding, but is it still good right now? How much longer will it be rideable?

Are there convenient places to camp near the trails? Is it worth the drive down for a weekend?

Lake Isabella is just under 3 hours from Bishop. Snow is not a problem right now. There is tons of good trails to ride as Fall is one of the best times of the year here. The upper elevation trails will be open until the first decent winter storm hits, usually mid November. The lower elevation stuff is open all winter. There is camping all along the river and the lake. The government shutdown has some of the campgrounds closed. I certainly think it is worth the drive.

Any one know of the current trail status in Kernville? Headed that way on Saturday and hoping to hit some dirt, but this front might not allow this.

Is the KRV Shop still open? Tried calling there but the number is disconnected and their site is down.

    Kernville on Sunday

The Kern River Sierra Backcountry Recreation and Adventure Sports in Kernville, Southern Sierra, Kern River Valley

According to this thread and this other site it looks like things are mostly snow free up there.
