Julian Bicycle Festival Sat & Sun May 5th & 6th

Come join us in beautiful springtime Julian for a weekend of biking and fun.

On Saturday we offer our 58 mile road ride around the Laguna triangle. This is one of the most scenic and challenging rides in San Diego County.

On Sunday we offer our 22 mile MTB ride with lots of great scenery.

Ride one days or both. On site camping is available.

New this year, we are basing the event from Frank Lane Park which is right in Julian, so you don't need to drive into town to shop or dine.

What's the course like? It looks like a good prtion of the ride might be on pavement?

Here is a link to the map. http://www.julianactive.com/mtbmap.htm

35 percent pavement and 65 percent dirt.

Pavement to start. then single track through a beautiful meadow (usually with carpets of flowers this time of year), then about 9 miles of almost uninterupted downhill on dirt roads past old gold mines to the tiny town of Banner. Then a 4 mile 1300 foot climb back to Julian on single track and dirt road. This is a very scenic ride with great views.

Most riders really enjoy the course, but if you dont want any pavement riding then this might not be your cup of tea.

Weather looks great for this weekend.
It will be about 60 degrees for the road ride on Saturday.
It will be about 65 degrees for the MTB ride on Sunday.

You may sign up on site for either ride.
Registration opens at 7:00 and both rides start at 9:00.

    Hey guys,

Hope we're not too late, Mary and I weren't planning on this but maybe we'll come out for Sunday's ride.
