Was on it yesterday. The top has snow throught the 2nd switchback. The top shale section now has big chunk rocks in the center channel. It's in Great Shape!!!!
I'm going to be riding Joplin for the first time. On Geoladders, it looks like most people actually come down what looks like the Santiago Truck Trail. Is that Lower Joplin or is there another way to go that's Lower Joplin? Or is there some other, better way to go. Thanks.
Joplin dumps you into Old Camp, then you do a little climb up to STT, so you can follow that--and throw in the Luge--back to where you started (Tucker Wildlife?). The actual Lower Joplin drops you into lower Trabuco, I think...
The actual lower joplin will take you to the Joplin Boy's camp (Juvi prison) and you will have to cross an area that is supposed to be off limits (I think there is a fence as well). Everyone goes from Old Camp down STT to Luge and down to Cooks OR down STT all the way to the road and then go right to take you back to Harding (if you parked there).
Thanks. I ended up going up Maple Springs and coming down Joplin to STT to Luge. It was fun. Joplin is one technical trail. I heard people saying you can't shuttle it, but there were several folks shuttling it the day I went. Maybe the various gates on maple springs and main divide are closed some times.
I shuttled Joplin for the first time ever 3 weeks ago. A buddy called and said his friend would shoot us up to 4 corners. Why not? It was 100 degrees and after 5pm on a Saturday. Fun times.
Joplin is probably the more technical it has been in years. The top is starting to get over grown so it is hard to read the trail. There is definately more big chunk in the middle section than before. The lower section is close to as its been in the past but with the newly added steep shoot at the creek.
Not on the bike path.....but when I was a 7-year-old I found $100 on the floor near the register at a supermarket.....
I didn't even think twice, I promptly found a cashier and told her about it. The cashier called the manager and they quickly balanced their drawer......the money wasn't theirs......so they promptly gave it back to me and told me to keep it.....I felt like a millionaire...
