We did the annual Hell Ride yesterday (which is now a Rob Bender memorial and fundraiser) from South Fork Campground to Morton Peak and into Redlands (40ish miles).
Conditions were incredible! They've gotten just enough rain to firm up the trails, and the Bender/Don's Bikes crew has cleaned up much of the Thomas Hunting Grounds s/t that is usually overgrown. Even the locals were saying that they've never seen it so good.
The s/t on the backside of Morton Peak is still pretty overgrown--so you'll need to cover up or prepare to lose skin---but the trail itself is in beautiful shape. Go git some! Btw- these trails are perfect for the SS.
I'm thinking of going up again on Tuesday morning to ride Loch Leven to the Post Office Loop to Glass Road if anybody is interested.
