First MTB Crash! (Skyline)
I have been meaning to get on here and share my awesome ride to the top of skyline back on 8/13/14! The morning ride started off amazing! Roughly 16 miles from my house to the Radar at the top of skyline!
About a mile back down the fire road, I lost control and meat my chin firmly on the ground! I knew right on impacted it was a going to be nasty... Got up and sure enough, blood Dripping all over, got my phone out turned the cam around and saw I shaved my go-tee off ha! At the time I couldn’t see the gash but it was there! Called my wife and had her bring the truck knew I needed stitches by how it felt, some other cuts bruises etc nearly ripped my finger nails off on my right hand. Had to ride down the mountain still! Thank God for adrenaline!! Bike wasn’t bad at all little beat up, (has character now) the head was twisted around, was able to straighten it out enough to ride down!
Without further ado here are the photos from my Wednesday morning ride / first MTB crash!

little lambs no more
As long as the bike is ok.
Just stick it in granny and start grinding.
Yup I ride that all the time, and that fire road is steep in places. Easy to over-cook a corner and loser the front end! Hope you heal up and get back out there.
oh man.... that was gross.
telling me to stay out of a former bombing range next to a dump while you build huge houses next to it? Screw you.-sandmangts
Looks like another oral orifice! Only, not a human one.
Yeah, I would concur.....that needed stitches.
Good on you for pedaling to the trailhead. I wish more trail riders would do that.
Re-Cycled Person who rides a mountain bicycle.
I feel your pain, been there done that. You'll have a great scar for memories.
I was doing a slalom through construction cones down a steep hill and crossed the bars. Being a kid, I got up and continued on our ride until my friend freaked out about all the blood running down my neck that I couldn't feel. My chin looked just like yours, big ass hole.
