Downhill / Freeride area with Lifts in Los Angeles area

    Hey,

originally I'm from Germany, but I moved to L.A. and I would like to know if there are any parks with lifts with Downhill / Freeride trails?

I was looking for something which is like this:
Northstar California in Lake Tahoe, California Ski Resort - Official Site

Is there anything comparable with this in the L.A. area?

    Thanks a lot!
    JP

Hop a quick flight from LAX to Mammoth or do the 5hr drive and you'll get:

Flow Bike Trail - Mammoth Mountain, California - YouTube

    Mammoth Mountain Bike Park

This is your best bet....Hopefully there is enough business to fund growth over the next few years to have a handful of good runs.

Are there real Downhill Trails in Big Bear? Do I need a downhill bike to ride there?

I'm sure for now you'll be fine with a 6" style bike. Old pirate DH trails weren't THAT rough or anything, the new trail they're building looks as smooth as a highway.
