Displaced Chicagoan Looking for Riding Groups in SD

    Hey everyone,

I just got to SD a few months ago and have kept off my bike waiting for my new company insurance to kick in (broken bones cost $$). I live in the Mission Valley area and don't have a clue what the good trails are. I am used to flat, Illinois, boring trails.

Are there any groups going out next weekend for a ride that are willing to let me tag along?

    Thanks,

    James

Check in at the link in my signature. Quite a few SD peeps now.

Also check www.geoladders.com There's good trail info as well as group rides.

Agree with CalEpic. I just rode Noble Canyon with him and a bunch of other great peeps. Go to www.socaltrailriders.org. It is "the" place to be in SD.

Noble is the exact opposite of that.

Also, www.motionbased.com has routes. Tad, harder to use, imho.

There is a couple groups that meet and ride out of the Performance Bike Shop in Bonita every Sunday at 8 AM. Form there they ride the Chula Vista/Bonita trails.

Gary Fox also leads quite a bit of group rides in SD.

Don't expect much this week, though, from probably anyone. Best to let the air clear out first.

FWIW, Noble Canyon is a pretty advanced trail. Hit a few other trails in the area first if you aren't used to the loose DG, rocks, and exposure

It's a must-do trail, but not an easy one!
