Hey MJ did you check out the slide show on my original post? They estimated most were 15 footers but there was some twenty foot plus sets coming in. It was insane and a very rare sight to see around here.

If he was a frequent flyer of Todos Santos on its big days. And he said he got the worst beating of his life. That is a testiment of how big those waves were in San Diego. As Todos Santos get's 25' plus on big days.

These are the new surf rescue roll over boats the coast guard began receiving about 5 years ago, pretty trick ships. The guys are in dry suits and strapped in during the training mission. The guys I know that work em live for this thrill. The scary part is if the motors stall they can be washed into the jetty. During a rescue 2 years ago that's what happened and a wave dropped them bottom first on a rocky reef, they bearly made it out. I'll stick to dirt and smaller sized waves.

I went out at ventura on my 7'6 gun. It was a few feet overhead with double overhead sets. My friend went out at the ranch of a 12 foot gun and it was triple over head with quadruple overhead sets. IT WAS HUGE!
