New question here. bonelli park race in May

Bonelli Park Cal State Series Race.

this race is put on by Team Big Bear, and the site says Saturday May 14... but the registration form says May 15 which is Sunday.

Anyone know what day it is?

Anyone know what the length of the XC course is, and what the terrain is like? (I have never ridden this course).

    thanks.

    check the race site: http://www.teambigbear.com/event_det...p?event_id=107

They change the race layout a little from year to year. I think last year it was around 11-12 miles for the beginners. Sport, expert and pro are longer.

The terrain varies from flat fire road to steep, rocky, technical single track. I had to walk a couple of sections last year.

I rode there on Sunday. The 2 water crossings are deep, but you can walk over make-shift bridges. Some of the single tracks are over grown with sticker bushes.

They can run the race around the sticker bushes. There is no way around the water crossings.

I will be riding there again in the next couple of weeks if you want to check it out.

The race is on the saturday the 14th.

Bonelli is a fun course with lots of fireroad. There are some singletrack in the course but its mosltly fireroad. From last year I think they did the 9 mile loop around the park. I did the race last year and it was hot. Dont know how the weather will be this year but itll probably be warm.

Hey, I rode there on Sunday too. Were you the guy that was going down as I was going up? It was near where the trail starts off Via Verde. I was riding a Mountain Cycle by the way.

TBB will probably have the course map posted a week before the race. I'm planning to race that weekend for the first time. I hope it isn't too hot!!
