BRUTAL!!! Really sorry to hear this. How did they get up to your balcony? Were your bikes viewable from below when they were on your balcony?

It's a closed community. Balcony is facing internal yard. You couldn't see bikes from the street but in theory could see handlebars and maybe a part of front forks from the internal yard. They've used the ladder and have left it staying.

A fire escape ladder or they brought there own ladder? I assume that you've called the police out to file a crime report and that you've posted this on other biking related sites?

They've brought their own ladder and left it. I've reported to police. I'm now looking for bike related sites to post there. I'd appreciate if you could advise any other resources.

There is a stolen bike registry which I've used. Just google it.

Suck, this has happened to me.. actually found my stolen bike 2x!!

Keep a chain and lock in your car, you may find some idiot riding it around town, or locked in front of a store somewhere.. be ready for confrontation

That sucks. They actually climbed to the second floor balcony to do this? Too bad they couldn't have taken an accidental spill...

Bike thieves are pretty stinking low. I keep my 10 year old bike locked up IN my garage at my house in case someone ever figures out the remote code settings for the opener and is just looking for a quick grab.
telling me to stay out of a former bombing range next to a dump while you build huge houses next to it? Screw you.-sandmangts
