... and if we just ... Big Laguna Trail

    03/15/07

First ride around Big Laguna Trail.
    Temp - 40deg
    Winds - Gusting around 40mpg
    Trail Condition - Slippy

We started at Penny Pines around 10am. At first we all were very apprehensive about riding because of the storm looming in the distance, but we went anyways. It made for some amazing photos.

In Socal it frequently pays off to gamble on the weather! Looks like you had it to yourselves. In a month or two the BLT oughta be eye-popping green and you'll be overtaking the horses. Nice pix -- thanks for posting 'em.

I was wondering how Big Laguna looked right about now. Now I know. Nice photos.

    Good job!

Hey, special thanks to Cpt. Snakebite up there! Those posted photos were the kick in the ass I needed to pack up the fam and hit the BLT Saturday afternoon. Our seven year old rode CCW the lake from Laguna Camp leading us on our singlespeeds except for a few climbs (when I passed him with a harsh, "on yer left!"... glory days, baby!) and whooping like a wild indigenous American on that long, mellow descent over on the NW side of the lake. The weather was perfect, the trails were empty and fantastic, no dust, no trouble trailheading, A-freaking plus!

We rode BLT (climbed up from Noble) yesterday. Awesome conditions. Trails are all dry and the lake is pretty full!
