    August race in Big Bear

I'm signed up for the benginner XC race and would like some info to help the weekend go smoothly.
I've done triathlons before but never anything in the off-raod format. Racing ettiquette, race start, etc.
Is anyone going to the race or thinking about?

    Thanks for any input

I'm not really experienced with racing kinda stuff but.....

I've ridden Big Bear and Mammoth(similiar atlitude and terrain).

Its hard on the lungs due to the altitude so the more time you spend up there before the race the better.

Also the dirt is very loose and dry so get real knobby tires with low pressure. Also just ride and get used to the terrain and dirt as much as possible.

Also, where are you comming from...my perspectice is comming from SoCal(OrangeCounty).

Also what are the dates of the race of the and where did you find out about it...i might be interested!!

Anyone else going to the race?

I've entered the Beginner XC race on Sunday and looking to see if anyone else wants is looking for a ride. I'll be leaving Saturday around noon and I have a cabin for Saturday night.

Yeah last time I was up there (last fri) we had to sign a waiver. And since we were under age we had to get our "Guardian" to sign it also. So if you want to use the chairlift then you have to sign a waiver. If you dont want to then you can always ride the trails up.

The beginner course is around 13 miles ( I had to call and ask ).

I'm in Yorba Linda, not too far from Walnut.
