Were you a member and what was your handle?
It was a place to go during the late 90's to maybe 2003 for so cal info on biking news and stuff. It turned into a flame war zone, naturally because its So Cal people and during the late 90's and early 2000's---it was the era of people who thought they knew EVERYTHING about EVERYTHING chimed in. Total LA Bullsh*t.
If your bike wasnt a Turner. Ellsworth or any 'boutique' brand, top of the line Specialized, Trek, etc you didn't know squat. If you were a noob the board there let you know. It was an awful bunch of riders, and only a handful were helpful. The awful cocky riders mostly were from South OC
and the San Fernando/Santa Monica mountain riders.
Like I said, there were nice helpful riders with posts about bike trips but it was the early internets and people loved chiming in with their stupid comments. I used to get flamed for my cheap Mongoose bikes (it was like so what, are you riding it?)
and one member got flamed because his blue Turner RFX has blue anodized parts all over it. (huh? what?)
Anyway anyone on this board from that era? Its hilarious that most of those know-it-all's from that old site don't ride anymore or maybe keep a dusty 26er sitting in their garage. I love going to that old site once in a while and see photos of these people riding and wonder if they're still alive LOL
