Anyone have a KHS stolen?

Hello,
I noticed a very nice older KHS hardtail near my workplace locked up with a very cheap lock. Thinking maybe someone picked it up at a garage sale and obviously did not realize the value, I put a note on the bike asking them to contact me so I could discuss purchasing it. The next day, the bike was painted very sloppy in green paint in an effort to disguise it. I feel that this is a stolen bike.
If you lost a KHS with a top shelf build kit, contact me and I can provide the location so you can contact the authorities.

Why not just call the cops and they will look up the serial? Or even better, write down the serial off the bike and call the PD and say you think a bike is stolen and you have a S/N for them to run. They usually run S/N's as a courtesy to people purchasing bikes.

not all bikes SN's have been registered with the police.
