yeah that new trail they built, the "miracle mile" i think it was called?

ah hmmm there really isn't much information I can make sense of. Is the new more DH trail at snow summitt? is it called miracle mile? I cannot find park hours anywhere, I assume it opens 9am

Miracle mile is the name of one of the more basic Ski/Snowboard Runs. I only remember a few trail names from when Summit had maintained trails years ago, and I do not remember them having a trail named Miracle Mile.

I am curious to see the new Trail system, I wonder how much of those old trails they are going to rework?

Vital has a little more info on Miracle Mile, ď features sweeping s-turns, 33 berms, six rollers, ten jumps and three wood features including a 30-foot bridge, diving board and berm.Ē

yeah there are a lot of people there, lots and lots

I am just leaving now, i got there for first runs of day, did the new trail 9 times in a row.

there is noways what they built will hold, the big bikes are tearing it up, they needed to use concrete pavers, and also more natural terrain / natural geography. will post a vid of my 4th run (which is the only one i bothered filming)

Awesome, yea post up what you got.

Are big bikes needed? How would a 5" bike fair out there? I want to head out there once sometime this summer.

on run 1, a DH bike was actually a disadvantage, the trail was smooth and twisty, the weight of the big bikes was a hindrance.

    by the time i left

    1) the berms were being eaten up
    2) the smaller berms on flat areas had TONS of loose dirt, where the usually bigger tires of DH bikes do much better.
    3) lots and lots of rocks were being uncovered, where before there were none.

so at the end of the day, I would have preferred the DH bike.

that being said, this is not a difficult trail, there is nothing there that gave me any pause.

biggest drop is about 2 feet. Biggest jump is small because there are just too many berms and tight corners, nowhere to really build up speed, and the jumps are very small with shallow ramps.

I did see lots and lots of "recreational riders" falling all over the place, down the mountain sides, launching off the top of berms into nowhere land, walking down the steeper parts of the trail etc etc

Hopefully they can sort out the trail dirt issues after this first day. Can't wait to go out there and give it a run, just waiting on damn Shimano to send me my front brake back from warranty.

lol, bodies everywhere huh? from the sounds of it probably due to all the loose dirt and rocks. Hopefully nobody got seriously injured.

You definitely do not need a dh bike. Trail can be ridden on a hard tail. Dh bike just be easier.

The trance is a great bike and I know it will hold up fine. My DH bike spoiled me.

Great video! Now I can see what you are saying the dirt looks very loose and dusty as hell out there.

    yeah its like mamoth lite.

i regret not bringing goggles. I kept having to back off the riders in front of me as dust was drying out my eyes.

Guess it makes no difference, trail was too busy to go full speed, always was someone slower in front.

My biggest takeaways are some of the features seemed oddly placed ...

Wood Berm seems way to tight to maintain flow and actually be fun, Bridge seemed pointless, trail seems like it has broken flow.

That being said I am excited about what it represents and what it can be in the future. I go to SS in the summer anyways so now there are a couple more trails which is all good.

How was cruiser? I see a lot of people saying it had better flow.

    How were the lift lines?
    More than one lift?
How many runs on actual summit property?

Biggest problem with wood berm is the exit. It's cambered the wrong way. Also the wood berm could be steeper, because it's so tight.

The wood bridge is silly. It should have no rail and not dip down or up it should be flat.

And yes the flow is broken in places trail requires pedaling. They should have tried to use the natural grade os the slope more.

But I understand why they didn't do the above they trying to make trail easier and reduce risk.

Two new trails, miracle mile and cruiser. Two lifts, I believe 1 and 2. Lines were really not too bad...
