I am not, but I've been meaning to check out the trails near Rose Hills and Schabarum Regional Park.

    Do you have any recommendations?

i live in walnut, close to scaabrum...

Its a descent place to ride, because it close by. However, the best downhill of the entire park has a ton of people going the fun way up it. So keep your speed in check.

    i ride turnbull on weekdays...

i ride turnbull on weekdays (usually early, like 6:30am), i just recently started at la tuna canyn loop as well, just to mix it up.

for turnbull, i usually start at the beverly/turnbull canyon rd entrance. i ride up to the first water tank, go to the left and ride up to the second tower. from there, i ride across the skyline trail and the road, down turnbull for a very short distance, and then climb up the skyline trail off to the left to the top (locals call this 360*).

from there, a short ride down skyline, towards schabarum. down a 1/2 mile or so from 360*, you'll see a trail do off to the right, that's cow trail. a fun singletrack, i take that to the end. from there, a leg burning climb up to 360* again, down skyline to turnbull hwy. go down turnbull hwy a few feet and you'll see a trail off to the right (a fun trail with switchbacks, locals call it escalators), i take that down to the first water tank.

the ride above is about 10 miles and there is enugh climbing to make anyone sweat. maybe 800-1000ft or so???

i'll also climb to the upper water tower again and take a fun, technical, rutted, switchback singletrack called "rattlesnake" down again towards the end of "escalator".

if you guys wanna hook up for a ride...let me know!!!

    cheers!

It sounds like you know the Turnbull area well but you didn't mention the Seventh Street loop. That adds a few miles & is a fun ride.
