Bonking ... not feelin' well X-post Ray Manzarek R.I.P.

Complications from bile duct cancer. On the bright side, the value of my autographed Yamaha CS2X just went up.

Really? There's something so wrong about your post I can't even put my feelings into words. I'll bite my tongue for a change so as to not offend the bay area contingent.

Uhh, what I meant was, although I am deeply saddened by his departure (Iíve been playing keyboards since 1986 and was inspired by him at an early age), the only positive note (one has to think about the positives to every situation, otherwise they just sit in front of their interwebs spewing hate all over the earth) is that suddenly my prized autographed keyboard isnít just a cheap workstation as it was designed to be.

I understand, it just came off the wrong way. Sorry to **** on your post, the Doors are one of my favorite all time bands.

R.I.P. One of my favorite songs to listen to on a rainy day ride is "Riders of the Storm".

    Classic!

Another musician gone, and we are replacing them with dancing lip syncers, "rap stars" and boy bands... Someone, anyone...please support real musicians by actually buying music instead of "borrowing" music. RIP Ray

I heard about it post-ride today in Santa Cruz. KPIG was playing some Doors and then a song from an album that Ray did with Roy Rogers. It was a fitting way to hear bad news.
    Why?

RIP Ray ... play it brother!
The Doors changed the landscape for blues rock fusion ...

Were it not for a chance meeting on Venice Beach in '65 where Ray persuaded Jim to sing his poem 'Moonlight Drive' there would not have been any Doors and our rock history and culture would be the poorer for it.
