29" swords kill better than 26" swords.

Are you guys freaking serious? If this was my thread it would read- Who doesn't ride with a sword? Guess what? You'd hear crickets for sure! I always take my katana with me. Why you ask? Just in case I run into ninjas on the trail. This is just getting silly now.

Yeah, I mean, what if you see a hiker on the trail that you don't recognize?

So, over in St Louis, apparently there are now "roving bands of teenagers who swarm and attack riders" (cyclists).

Teens Target Cyclists In ‘Knockout’ Game « CBS St. Louis

“They weren’t really interested in robbing me. It just seemed like they wanted to beat me up,” says assault victim Cheech Ramirez. “They weren’t interested in letting me get off the ground and having a fair fight.”

Suddenly riding with a sword seems quite sensible!

Nah, swords are so… 18th century, and the lack of braze-ons really clashes with my 4130 chromoly lifestyle. On occasion when riding solo, depending on where I ride, that is to say, I like to put my mind to ease with the help of Kimber. Otherwise, Kimber’s non-lethal offerings are always with me.

On a serious note, if something like were to happen to me, the first thing is to do is run right into one of those attackers. You are going down either way, but at least start with taking one of those little ****s out.
