Whiskey Off Road - Prescott AZ

Who from NorCal is headed down for the race?

    I'm half in.

Depending on which race you're doing, check out the course. The only difference between the 25 and 50 is an out-n-back on a fireroad (?). It's also a great time of the year to hit Gooseberry Mesa or Sedona for non-racing epic fun!
    Why?

Because we like the taste of freedom; because we like the smell of danger. ~ E. Abbey

It's worth doing once. If you're going for a result, line up REALLY early and be prepared to start fast on the initial paved, then service road climb, or you'll be stuck in traffic for MILES in the singletrack.

Be prepared for any kind of conditions imaginable, the year I did the 50, a storm blew in two days before the race, dropped @ 4 inches of snow, and miraculously pretty much melted off before the start.

I enjoyed the Prescott Monstercross [Arizona Endurance Series race] more, the trails @ Prescott are technical XC heaven.

    Have fun!

Thanks Marco. I think you'd get a kick out of this race, the 50 would be a great fit for your skills.

The way Prescott embraces the whole event is what the Sea Otter should/could be.

Pending UCI pseudonym (Mentos de Freshmaker), I will be going. Anyone want to carpool? I will leave Hayward at noon on Thursday before the race, drive straight out there, return Sunday after the pro race, camp along the way, back Monday noonish. I have room for two more people and bikes. I have team housing when I get there, so you'd be on your own for the weekend. Your car or mine.
