Here's a link for ya, Keep! Tahoe Trail Conditions | I've only ridden Armstrong Connector and Corral from that list, but they were super fun and beautiful.

Hopefully, there will be an update tomorrow. It's looking pretty good up there, and the snow is melting fast.

Here is your north lake/truckee update from what I'm hearing/have riden. Snow level is at about 7k on the crest side of the valley and at about 7500 on the east side of the valley, obviously more on north facing than south:
    1) Sawtooth network including schaffer, 2 bridges, lor axe, smiley face, etc - all open and in GREAT shape
    2) Animal to drunken deer - open
    3) JPs - open
    4) Yogi - open about 1/2 way up where you will hit snow
    5) Tahoe City Nordic Center - mostly open
    6) Western States out of Squaw - open to the wall where you will hit some snow
    7) Missing link - I heard it was mostly open with some snow in the deep valley
    8) TRT off of 267 towards Rose - Open on the up hill section with deep snow on the two downhills (as of Saturday) and the break offs down to KB are also in great shape
    9) DLRT out of Negro - Looks snow free but don't know - John S you been up there yet?
    10) deer creek - also heard it was open
    11) Truckee Pump Track - open and AWESOME!!!

Here is some of what is still under snow:
    1) TRT between 267 and TC
    2) Bob Watson
    3) Cena Lar
    4) HITG
    5) Upper DLRT
    6) TRT out of the Mt Rose area

Some images from over the weekend, 70's temps and trail conditions are fantastic

Making the trip on the way back down more fun!

Connector/Corral/sidewinder and Cold creek are amazing right now and if your enjoying them, help make corral even better, with a tax deductible contribution (Which is being matched dollar for dollar from the Salesforce Foundation)

    Let?s build Corral |

On Saturday, grabbed the wife, a friend and the single speed and rode Commemorative Emigrant Trail. Nary a hint of moisture. Very warm too.

Speelling is over rated, just lokk at the purdy foto's

From today (yes the falls are rid-able right now)

When you get into town, go by one of the local bikes shops and pick up the Tahoe Adventure map, best one out there, most shops if there not busy will steer you towards some killer riding.

Flume trail is open, some really annoying (swamplike) snowfields at lake marlette.
Most of the whole track is just awesome. Shuttle is not active (starts on 11th may) so we went back the same track back and collected some bonus-climb.

Whats open at Lake Tahoe so far?

Traffic reports talking about chains required over Donner Summit this morning. I'd be willing to bet that there are fewer trails ready to go today.

Heck it's snowing at lake level today, it will melt quick though, trails were phenomenal yesterday, before the rain trails were already getting dusty, gonna be a long summer, hope for many more of these storms.

Here is a video of BigBoulder on Saturday trying out a full suspension bike he thinking of buying, not quit set up for him yet and not quite used to not being on a fully rigid, but he still rode ok (got a reel full of bloopers from the trails we rode earlier )

Just think, you get to hit all this before you even get to the new flow trail section Let?s build Corral |

Trails were getting dusty last week, but itís been raining and snowing for the last 2 days... get ready for awesome riding this weekend! And first South Tahoe Trail Day is May 19th - working on lower Toads. I bet could be open around Memorial Day.

Weíve been keeping the conditions updated weekly here: Tahoe Trail Conditions Updated 5/5/2013 |

I donít have good recon on the North Shore, so if anyone has better info, let me know. Also, hereís a few photos taken recently from our friend Rick Gunn (adventure rider, writer, photographer).

I went up there on Saturday, quite the adventure. The lower half is in awesome condition, but there is lots of snow up top still. We originally parked up top, but after riding through a couple snow patches we realized our folly and went down to the halfway trailhead via the road. Everything from that point down is fast, tacky, awesomeness!

5/8 Truckee/North shore update from my rides and friends over the past week. Most of these updates are before the rain we just had so I expect more to be melted out as most of these trails are below the snow/rain line over the past few days.

    1) TRT from 267 headed towards Martis - is clear most of the way to the top of martis. You will have a few patches of snow.
    2) TRT from 267 to Watson lake - I heard this was mostly clear but don't believe it as the section before Watson lake takes some time to melt out.
    3) OTB - still has snow as of last week
    4) Western States & wall and missing link from 89 towards - was told this was clear as of last weekend
    5) Tevas off of Western States - was told this was clear
    6) Bob Watson and Cena lar - was told both are clear and in great shape
    7) Sawtooth - clear for weeks
    8) Lor Axe, Schaffer cree, 2 bridges bears & a beaver - all clear and in great shape. A lot of work has been done on these trails - THANK YOU!
    9) Animal and Alder Creek - clear and in great shape to the very top
    10) DLRT from DLI to Glacier Way and to Summit Lake - Clear and in great shape until you hit the summit lake basin.
    11) JPs and Yogi - clear to the post card view point. Has been getting a ton of traffic. I saw about 16 other riders on Yogi on Sunday.
    12) TC Nordic Center - clear
    13) KB trails that connect to TRT - clear
    14) Truckee Pump Track - PERFECT SHAPE...but needs to dry for a day or two
    15) HITG - not a chance

Hiked Castle Peak today. Excellent weather. HITG still DEEP in snow. The signpost at the Donner Pass single track entrance is half buried in snow. The entire north face after Andesite Ridge is snow. Won't be ready for Memorial by a long shot. Give it 2-3 weeks minimum.

You can add Donner Lake Rim Trail to the open list...small patches of snow and a few down trees, same with the side access trail to the rest area and the trail that goes to the north and connects back to the DLRT. Small patches of snow but still fun..

Also, no snow to the top of Martis via the TRT any more.

Martis gate is closed until mid June unless the forest service decides to man the look out early (according to the person that answered the phone at the Truckee ranger district)...

Paige meadows is just about fully melted out. Scott's peak is just about fully melted as well, minus a few patches around 7,000. Western States is great right now, all the way out to painted rock & near Watson. But still a lot of snow near the summit 8,424.

    Cheers!

We are logging out this section tomorrow. Castle valley road has a fair number of patches of snow on it to access DLRT but all are walkable. Castle Creek was cooooooollllllllllddddddd last night when I walked across it.

Here's a shot of my little buddy helping assess how the tread wintered....

Conditions were Epic yesterday, got started before the rain, but then drizzle, rain and a snow, left us soaked but with fantastic trail conditions.

Nate Arnold, riding super strong again.

Recently did Spooner Summit to Monument Pass, then down cold creek, maybe 1/4 mile of snow before the first lookout before the bench, and two small drifts near Mott Canyon. Freel is still deep in snow.

Scott Lake and Xmas valley are all snow free

Rain just broke and the sun is starting to peak out, should be EPIC conditions out there.

Should be great conditions for you Steve, 5 trees down on the spooner side, and two down after the bench, and a 1/4 to 1/3 of a mile of snow before the first lookout, every thing else is in great shape!

Going to be near 100 degrees in Auburn Saturday so I may have to go back to Tahoe. Anybody know if Armstrong Pass is open, or current conditions?

Rode TRT from 89 at luther pass to Toads Sunday.. I knew there would be plenty of snow left over, but saw none until Tucker Flat. After that though, got pretty sick of the snow after about 30 dismounts.. Finally at about 7000' and lower the snow went away and boom chikka boom.. Paid off below 7k' and got the whole trail to myself- A little dry and dusty down there, but mad props to the people that worked the bottom of toads last weekend, you guys rock..! TWM.

Wherewolf did you miss the post about Armstrong a few up? sounds like snow still.

If you get a chance to do Echo to Strawberry or Silverfork this week, conditions I do not think will get any better than they are right now, trails got soaked last night and are fantastic, access is clear over Sierra @ Tahoe to get to lower Bryant Meadows and Sayles if you want to get your chunk on.
