    Weekend Ride Report Sept. 8th - 10th

Get out and enjoy the cooler temps while you can. It's supposed to get warmer this weekend. At least the cloud cover makes it feel cooler.

Still better than the craptastic weather last weekend....

I just got a text from Jeni who is freaking out. Turns out Jill Kintner is in her IMBA Level 2 certification class. She has been working on pedaling front wheel lifts and level lifts and isn't happy with her progress. Now she has to demonstrate them in front of her hero, Jill. LMAO!

Failed level lift from earlier in the week.

Just a heads up for the folks riding in Tahoe this weekend: The Tahoe 200 Endurance Run started today (9/8) at Homewood and will continue (anti-clockwise around the lake) through Tuesday (9/12).

If you see them please be courteous and cheer them on! These are some seriously tough kids!

Tbd. My friends are bad at making definitive plans. But we will probably do Toads since I have never ridden that trail before and have been wanting to for a long time.

Spent 2 hours sessioning carlmont today, finally starting to learn how to whip. I still suck, but i can wiggle a little in the air now. Looks like some people have been cleaning up canadian killer, i would love to watch someone hit that in person.

Spent the day in Santa Cruz, enjoyed the excellent weather up until i slashed the sidewall on a one ride old specialized butcher. Thankfully that was near the end of the ride.Weekend Ride Report Sept. 8th - 10th-img_1708%5B1%5D.jpg

Nice teaser video! Looking forward to an in-depth review/comparison of the different features of each bike.

Meanwhile, I kept my singlespeed cardio thing going this morning before going to work:

Hit Ft Ord for the first time on a bike. Was stationed there 25 years ago and spent a lot of time out in the back 40. Brought back a lot of memories. I'll definitely have to go back....way too many trails to ride in one day.

Weighed the bikes! This one is my own bike actually. Trek Slash 29er with RaceFace Next R components. If I can only fit a 150mm dropper, I'd be set.

Hmmm.. I was riding at UC this AM and I thought I saw Jill. I was coming into the playground (jumped the two log piles) and she was standing off the trail (whitish pants, not in riding clothes). I jammed on the brakes, apologized, and she said it was good.

Check out the way pinkbike does it https://www.pinkbike.com/news/transi...view-2017.html. You can see how much the pedals kick and how much the brake rotor moves during the travel.

The Intense Carbine has the best paint job. Looked even better in person at TNGR two weeks ago. I believe you referred to it as the “Spider Man” bike.

Indeed. I rode there and back from Los Gatos yesterday, with a flow loop. Started at 7:30 and home before noon.

Today, a pretty basic loop in SC starting from Emma.

Had to remove the old hot tub because it was "ugly and in the way". Jeni wants to build a drop zone right there that leads to the backyard slope and some sweet berms. Life dating an MTB girl.

But you get to see dumb crap like this when going to the hillbilly dump. lol That is a load of jagged, warped sheet metal that guy is "holding down".

Just got home from two days of riding in South Lake Tahoe, with turfnsurf. Saturday we rode Armstrong-TRT-Toads. Lots of trail runners on the TRT, they were all really friendly. Sunday we rode Scotts Lake Trail-TRT-Dardanelle's Lake Trail-Christmas Valley Trail-Hawley Grade Trail(we only climbed up about half way, griz got tired)-back up to Big Meadow campground.
