Hero dirt on Lime just now. Only puddles were the usual fireroad spots. My 130mm Yari's grew to 150mm at Frame Up Bikes on Thursday. Lime test shred was exxxxxcellent! :-)

Looking forward to a fun weekend,

Thanks for the advice. I was planning on heading over there Saturday morning, but it would seem as though Iíll be riding boring-ass fire roads instead.

Brown Pow! today at Granite Bay trails. Dried out just enough with some standing water located in low consequence areas for trail damage. Trees look to have been cleared in the past few days so nothing blown down. TBF will be out tomorrow from 8 to noon for those that are thinking about a ride. I suspect other trails in the area are still swamped in.

Finally rode my new Hightower at china camp today. Sooooooo fast. usually takes me about an hour to do the main 7.5m bayview loop, did it in 40 mins on the HT.
The dirt is awesome, a few muddy spots. Get out there.
    Headed to Uc tomorrow.

jumped on the SS Friday afternoon and got out into Nisene and surprisingly it was not too bad. The fire road was greasy in a few spots on the flats but for the most part it was in good shape. Trails are good. Made it out in the dark.

Epic UC day! All time conditions but I was painfully off the back but so worth it. 90 degrees on the porch right now in La Selva.

my first foray into marin since i hurt myself back in september. we rode some trails i have not ridden in a few years which are nominally singletrack but don't have any "no bikes" signs. those trails were nice and tacky, but the fire roads in the headlands are back to being pebbles over hardpack.

got a nice image of a MSG boat approaching the golden gate from a vantage point at kirby's cove.

damn, it feels good to climb 2100 feet or whatever!

Rode Nevada City today. It was poppin'. People everywhere in the Harmony Market lot but didn't see many people on the trails. Did White Cloud to Hoot then to the market. Conditions were great. No puddles or mud to speak of. Hoot was pretty tacky and the hits were on point!

Jeni rode Auburn and said Culvert was mostly good. Stonewall and Confluence were great.

Mike trying his hand at the "root drop" on Pioneer.

Did you know hand sanitizer can clean lube off your rotor and make your brakes work again? lol

Mike is new to the area so I'm showing him the local trails. He's pretty stoked so far.

I did a wee bit of #dadfail. After convincing my son on his first ride since Thanksgiving, I made him do two laps at Demo and I didn't have any trail food for his 185 lb carcass on the Wreckoning. He slayed every jump at Braille and Flow but he said his brakes were awful. At the end of the ride, I then find out his brakes were moto style... and he doesn't ride that way.

Damn. Let's just say he's asleep now.

How do you not notice that right away? Unless he always just used both brakes at the same time, maybe? I would have probably went over the bars just trying to do a skid before even leaving the parking lot. Lol

i went walking up there back in late november and december. almost rolled my ankle in a rut on marincello!

here is a look facing south-kinda-east on wolf ridge coming down from hill 88, with miwok leading up to air control in the distance. mind you, this is on foot back on november 25.

this is AFTER two or three days of decent rain three or four days earlier!

the forecast for next week is rain; if this keeps up, the fire road ruts are going to start getting a lot deeper!

i was on the War Pig. it's heavy and slow but i'm very impressed with its traction on climbs. you don't stand up and pedal on this bike; you just sit down IN the bike and kind of power your way up.

i will not set any speed records ascending aboard this rig, that's for sure!

Was nice out at Carlmont, quite a few familiar faces throughout the day. Surprised at how many puddles have hung around since the rain, but dirt is tacky out there anyways. Sketchier to walk than ride sometimes. Probably going to hit some uc or flow tomorrow.

went to Demo today, even though I could probably be considered ill ó had to experience the manicured sections 3 and 4.

tip: you can take the tractor trail re-route and it will dump you right at the entrance of section 3.

Did it at sloth speed ó isn't any worse than sulphur though. The hardest parts have been closed due to the logging of saw pit.

Top 3 conditions for Demo all time!!!!

How did he not notice the brakes were reversed? He doesn't ride enough. He knew something was wrong but could not pinpoint it. He's a 60/40, 70/30 rear front/braker and his body made the adjustment.

I would have gone down, that's for sure.

Hero dirt in Annadel yesterday. Took out the SweetSpot with the heavy-sticky wheels and tires. Puts a smile on my face, which is what this whole thing is about, right?

Sunday Trail-Work with 11 bodies on Pipeline in Toro Park will yield EPIC conditions for days!! More rain in the forecast too later this week. We'll be back at it again I'm sure.

    Enjoy.

the forecast for next week is rain; if this keeps up, the fire road ruts are going to start getting a lot deeper!
You should see the route i take to get from sausalito to mill valley, there is a certain section i won't name that is basically loose gravel over a steep rock face. So sketchy during the summer. Just got to find a way to link Miwok to some single track to get over Tam and into corte madera so i can ride to work/class.

Anybody know approx what percentage of Rockville was open this weekend? With the small amount of rain forecast for Fairfield I imagine it wouldn't change for this Saturday.
