I think the four day W.R.Report is here to stay. The pano shots that fc suggested for taller subjects works well for walls also!
This pano pic from yesterdays failed attempt is the horrible last hill section of Priest rock/Dogmeat we affectionately call Gollum's ladder.
Just rode Lagoon Valley in Vacaville today and it was pretty much dry except for in some of the rare shady spots, but nothing really muddy. Unfortunately, the southern part of the trail is riddled with cow hoof craters (looks like the surface of the moon, if there were moon cows) and there are some fairly deep erosion trenches wanting to eat your wheel. Still fun though!
Condition at Fremont Older this morning was unbelievable. After the whole ride, my brand new tires still look brand-new. Not one hint of dirt. The traction was that good.
Any of you slackers want to meet at Hunting Hollow at 10am today for 2 or 3 laps up, thinking Spike Jones / Middle Steer and maybe an out an back on Lyman Wilson in order to keep the feet dry until the end
Late afternoon jam session on the SS around China Camp backside yesterday.
Going to ride Jackson Demo up in Mendocino for the first time tomorrow.
Hitting Oat Hill Mine Sunday to round off the weekend.
A bunch of us will be out riding Auburn tomorrow morning. I'll get there after 11am but the group is starting at 8 or 9. Hope the mushy conditions are gone. I hate trying to wash the red mud out of my jerseys. :/
...if riding in the vicinity of hwy9, the flat stuff is soggy! Even the fire-road up-top - some total bogs. Steeps are perfect with dry spots, so commute with care to the fun zones.
Please avoid anything moderately flat, even if really sweet or magical...especially with groups! We've been fortunate enough with the precip that they have not drained yet.
If anyone hitz demo today please post a ride report... Thinking of an early ride tomorrow. Thanks,
