    Weekend ride report 11/1

Rode with LP today on Kennedy and Priest rock. Pretty wet out there! Weekend ride report 11/1-img_0270.jpgWeekend ride report 11/1-img_0283.jpg Muddy and slow out there. Dogmeat is gonna be extremely hard to make for more than a few days.

Little ride around Monte Sereno with my daughter, then a slog up Kennedy. Lots of tracks there today, and still quite a few riders out around 4:30pm.

It's a good idea not to ride trails when they are wet.

Studied the rainfall totals and chose wisely today, one out of the 3 drops I did twice, could hardly even tell I had ridden there earlier, loamy goodness and dark meat.

Umm… not if one borrows my fatbike, as you witnessed today:

Nice job today on an incredible run up Dogmeat. I have never worked that hard to only get halfway up the worst hill on Dogmeat as today.

True and what I should have said was "...when they are *too* wet". Up here in Nevada County, we saw a lot of rain fall, perhaps more that in other parts of NorCal.

Swing and a miss on Dogmeat today

Went to top only but tall dark and handsome went for it and just missed dogmeat by 30 feet. Gollums ladder got him ... last rocky steps area before the top. Wow, guess I just missed you guys out there. The Juanimal™ texted me last minute about tackling the Virl O Ballbreaker to Kennedy route, we met up and made this biyatch happen:

The one inch plus of rain that fell in Coe got sucked up by the park like a sponge, trail conditions just do not get better out there, perfection!

^^ Nice! That's CA Fuschia (pretty sure), one of my favorites.

I gotta get out to Coe. It's on my to do list for sure. One of my good friends just got a job at Hollister OHV as an operator park so I need to convince him to do some recon and invite me over to ride Coe since he's so close.

Tahoe is still holding up in places. Was absolutely perfect yesterday. Did some mellow SS action by Meyers yesterday. Weekend ride report 11/1-img_3907_sq.jpgWeekend ride report 11/1-img_3909_sq.jpgWeekend ride report 11/1-img_3910.jpgWeekend ride report 11/1-img_3913.jpg

Didn't have a lot of time this weekend due to travel and then an overnight in the city, that said, I got out on the cross bike. Emma -> a bit of upper UC -> Star Wars -> home one day, a couple of loops in DeLa and out by the coast the other. Wished for more, glad for what I got.

Oh, and I also had a beer or two to celebrate Sovember for CHUM.

    First dirt in months...

I'm still healing up from a busted leg/hip last summer, but I couldn't resist sampling some dirt in LG this weekend. It wasn't UC/Demo, but after 3+ months off the bike and nearly 4 months off the dirt, I'll take it! I ran into AncientRascal and LGMan on Sunday and had the whole trail to myself on Monday.

The dirt/forest smelled good, weather was perfect, and it's hard to beat the views.
