A bunch of folks have asked for an update so here it is..I ran out at lunch today and took these pics. Progress is moving forward very fast.
We are planning the grand opening party for the afternoon of June 10th!
Until then - PLEASE DO NOT RIDE THE TRACK!
We have see a few poachers and it costs time and money to re do the work. Here are some pics.
Huge thanks go out to everyone in the community that has helped support this effort, the list is very long but you know who you are and Truckee thanks you!
Stay tuned for future develops...look at this as just the beginning of a world class destination.
Yes and thank you! This bike park is a 100% grass roots effort (from concept to opening in less than an year). We have fundraisers in the fall and spring and will be accepting donations on an ongoing basis. We fall under the Truckee Parks and Rec non profit. If you want to make a donation to them please just specify it is for the Truckee Pump Track Project.
Best way to follow the project is to 'like' the Truckee Pump Track Project on Facebook
Hi,
Much as I'd like you to join us at the Truckee Trails Fdn, we are just in a support role to the people rallying the project. If you donate through us to the pumptrack, please write somewhere that your donation is for the pumptrack and we will be sure to get the money to them. I think the best way is via their facebook contact. They run everything through the rec and parks restricted fund for the pump track in their 501 C 3 arm....

Yes the pump track is on schedule to be 100% done by the grand opening. The pump track alone is going to be world class!
This said, keep in mind that this is just the first phase. More info on future plans will be announced once they are official but rest assured there is an even grander vision. Of course more money will need to be raised at that point.
Looks great! Will be driving through Truckee with a bike on the 10th, going to try to stop in for the opening. Do you expect a lot of kids at the opening? Wondering if it would be cool for a 6 year old to get a little time on it or if think it will be too busy? (she shreds )
Yes, Truckee is family friendly so bring the kids! We are building a tot track around the perimeter of the main two tracks so the little ones can be occupied and fall in love with biking at a young age (if she is up for the bigger track she is welcome to try it) while you work on your jumping/pumping skills.
The Truckee Pump Track is looks AWESOME!!! I spent some time helping to get it dialed in last night. Although it is almost done, PLEASE STILL DO NOT RIDE the pump track. Very soon you will be able to have it...until then we are still working to get it perfect....here are some pics from last night...
We really look forward to seeing everyone at the grand opening on June 10th!
We all look forward to seeing you on Sunday for the Grand opening!
Everyone is working really hard right now to put the final touches on the track...it has turned out amazing! Very progressive and just huge.
Again, thank you to everyone that has helped with this monumental effort. If you meet Mark or Brooks on Sunday, please thank them for all their efforts...they are changing the mt biking game in Truckee!
what a great day for biking in truckee! after acknowledgments and the ribbon cutting ceremony the track was mobbed. & looked like it did well! lots of smiles all round.
It was a great day for the Truckee bike community. We had an awesome turn out and everyone had a blast. Thanks again to everyone that come out and supported this project. Keep you eyes open for future developments.
Now go out and ride the track! It's open from sunrise to sunset. All we ask is that you please stay off when the irrigation is running and for a few minutes after...
Wow you guys did a really great job. Hats off to you. Can't wait to check it out this summer. It always amazes me that smaller communities like Truckee can pull something like this together and yet it's impossibly daunting down here in South Bay.
It would be really interesting to hear about the whole project; how it got started, how much money it took, how long it took from concept to completion, what the obstacles were etc...
All the dirt was brought in...it was checked out in advance by the builders to make sure it met their needs. I'll have to find out the final amount but I think it was ~2k yards or so...
Truckee Bike Park Update:
1) The Town of Truckee has approved the full master plan - all 5 phases! dirt jumps, flow, skills zone, drop zone, etc. Now we just need to keep raising $$.
2) Construction of the dirt jumps begins this weekend with grading and brush clearing. If you have been by you have seen all the dirt piled in the parking lot, that is for these dirt jumps.
Soon we will schedule a grand opening party and I will post details here...
