We Need Your Help with Tamarancho Bike Legal Singletrack
The trails at Tamarancho (privately owned Boy Scout Camp above Fairfax) were constructed over a 6 year period by local volunteer cyclists.
Since the construction was completed (2000) volunteers continue to maintain and improve the trail system. Trail work is usually only done in the winter, when the ground is easier to work with, and includes building water bars, removing invasive plants, and improving the trails.
This year we are also building a new downhill FLOW TRAIL, the first in Marin and we need help with this construction to get it open by Summer 2013. No experience necessary.
Here is the trailwork schedule for the next 4 weeks:
Saturdays Jan 19, 26- Trail maintenance and improvement. Arrive 10am sharp. Drive or ride to the center of camp. Bring sturdy shoes and gloves. All tools will be provided.
Saturdays Feb 2, Feb 9
Sundays Jan 20, 27, Feb 3, Feb 10
Work on FLOW TRAIL. Ride your bike to intersection of B-17 and Broken Dam. Closest place to park is on Sir Francis Drake and ride up White Hill Trail to Porcupine to enter camp at B-17 Extension.
Arrive as close to 9:30am as you can. If you arrive later look for work crew.
