Anybody know about STCP for Saturday morning, tomorrow?
Dion challenged me to a "no dabs climb up rocky ridge" and this is the last weekend I have before I go on vacation.
Oh yeah. Do I still win if I take breaks, Dion?

It was an impulse decision.
Just got back from China Camp and can confirm that conditions are pretty nice. A little running water here and there, but not too much mud - bike was relatively clean after the ride. Backside was very nice!

I just rode ECDM and brought a hand saw. Manzanita, Steam Donkey, Cross Cut, Crossover and Steam Donkey are now clear. It is drying out quickly out there. It is significantly drier than it was yesterday!
Oh, must be that really famous "Washington / Kentucky / Japan" trail network system that I've heard so much about! Looks awesome. Rider probably went OTB because hit a rut going through the space-time continuum.
Anyone ride Skeggs / ECDM today? Would like to know how things are out there (Sierra Morena, Resolution, Manzanita...), would like to ride it this weekend. Thanks!
I did a run through Redwood park in the Oakland Hills this afternoon. Some parts of the fire roads are fully exposed, so they were relatively dry except for a few drainage areas (had to walk the bike through one spot). There was an occasional muddy puddle, but it felt so good to be out riding again!
Hit up Salmon Falls and it was just fine, a few small puddles and the creeks are flowing nice but nothing that would require hab to save the trails.
A few trees down, the first being the downhill as you go right at the y (up and over the hill to the creek). On the downhill it is across the entire trail. I could not move it alone but a saw and one or two people and it is easily taken care of. The second tree is a different story. It is one that has been across the trail for quite a while. It is after the downhill mentioned above and on the way to peninsula campground. Last week the bottom of the trunk was 6 or so feet high and you could ride under it with ease. Today it is two feet off the ground. This will take a chainsaw and some labor to remove.

sorry guys.
Just wanted to know how it was so I could guesstimate whether it would be open tomorrow AM.
Guess I'll just have to wait.
Thanks for the info though, IAmHolland.
EDIT: Yep, closed since Monday, at least. Prolly be closed tomorrow too, cuz of the clay-like dirt at STCP. Sigh... Maybe Demo or Gap?

I rode Canada Del Oro yesterday thinking we hadn't had much rain in a few days, but it was still way too saturated in many spots. Even with the Canonndale and the low-profile tires I was creating ruts. I decided to cut the ride short. The trails need a little more time to dry, IMO.
China camp loop was awesome! Slippery sucker but super fun! Bike came out pretty clean Bayview to ridge trail has two trees down (carry bike over one and sneak under the other no big deal) Will post pics when I get home tonight...great ride ready for more! Waterdog tomorrow? Any updates?
