    Trail Conditions Report: Feb 28+

The big rain is about to get going tonight. So this thread is really about trail conditions starting tomorrow.

A ton of rain has fallen already and the next one is more.

It might be road riding weekend but let's hear how much rain actually falls in your neighborhood. And let's hear about conditions and downed trees.

This is 48 hour rainfall as of right now, Thurs, 1pm.

Is it true that the rock garden baby heads section at tamarancho was leveled?

Lets keep this thread about the weather not the work done at Tamarancho. I'd be happy to answer any questions via PM or cejocky@gmail.com

    Good above Nisene

It was nice around Aptos and Nisene this afternoon. There was some standing water and a few puddles to dodge, but the fire road is firmer than after the previous storms, and the singletrack is, well, riding nicely.

Tree down on Buffalo Jones trail, no water yet from the overflow out of the hidden lake.
That's my measure for a "normal" rain year.

Grasshopper (all road, alas) in Occidental tomorrow.

Presumably sitting home drinking beer resting my tired legs on Sunday.

Looks like you and I are riding the same trail this weekend.

Sun will be out by tomorrow afternoon. Thinking instead of beating the bush at St. Joes on Sunday, may be climb Calaveras or Mt. Hamilton on the road instead.

OK - time to resurrect this thread - I'm jonesin' to get a ride in! In my neck of the woods (the city), we really didn't get hammered too bad over the last couple days, and judging by the soil here, maybe I could see some potential for some good riding tomorrow?

Anyone want to predict if any bay area trails will be dialed by tomorrow? - or should we just stay off all dirt? I'll ride just about anywhere (just please God, not on the road!).

Hero mud/dirt out at Kennedy today, with only a few sloppy/mucky spots. Should be no-dabbable up Dogmeat in a few days. Really now, almost everywhere else nearby is closed.

Since you're in the City: Headlands should be ok. Golden Gate Park might also be pretty nice for a quick spin.

China Camp was perfect this afternoon. A few muddy puddles on the lower trail but the rest was good to go.

Good to know regarding CC - I know that place dries out pretty well.

Thanks for the suggestion sashax - I am generally a bit of a snob and only want to ride singletrack (even though I said I'll ride anywhere!) - and it's just hard to get excited about riding through GG Park - that was my commute for 7 years, but like you said, maybe for a quick spin just to stretch the legs

Anyone have a line on Pacifica? Too wet for tomorrow?

I'm riding China Camp tomorrow; I was out clearing trails yesterday. That place can handle the rain, the trails were fine. 10-11 am tommorow.

Skeggs and everything along Skyline Blvd today will be a hideous mess for you, your bike and last but not least... the trail.

A trails conditions thread would be worthless if no one actually went to find out. I'm shorter on time than I thought so I'm headed to Russian Ridge. No seasonal trail closures there. If it's bad right I'll just turn around.
