I try to go to Auburn when I can but for days I don't have time, it would be nice to get something here. All I've found so far is river trails that are so sandy it isn't really fun.
Thanks! There is a decent trail starting at where Nortgate Blvd dead ends at the Highway 160 overpass for 3 miles or so then the trail merges with the paved American River Bike Trail.
I'll have to check out where you're talking about. That should just be a few miles on the paved trail after where I'm talking about.
poke around and if you need more help, shoot me a pm. I'm usually out cruising those trails once or twice a week when I'm too broke/lazy to drive into the smoke layer lately.
What kind of distance is available out there? It's taking me forever to get sick of the American River Bike trail on my road bike because there is 30 miles to work with.
In Sac, well... no. Unfortunately other than what is listed above nothing out the door. A shorter drive than Auburn would be the trails Near Salmon Falls (Darrington trail). Good fun and some options to keep it interesting for a while.
