Team Social Pace up for a Nisene/Demo ride?

I'll keep it short and sweet. This Saturday we plan on riding up Aptos Creek Trail, hit a few Demo loops, and back on down Aptos. It will be a fairly long ride at a "social pace" along with a decent amount of footies. Who's in?

    Where:
    Epicenter Cycling
8035 Soquel Dr, Ste 23, Aptos, CA 95003
    (831) 662-8100

    When: Saturday @ 9:00 am

Dion, you think Derrick (your brother) would be interested? Should be a lot smaller group due to short notice, so we won't keep him waiting too long.

Robert, I thought for sure you would be one of the guys going. You have some crazy downhill skills and it would be a blast. If you happen to change your mind let me know.

Just a heads up that I believe (maybe somebody can confirm) that the Demo parking lot is completely closed (as in off limits) this weekend. This would not affect parking obviously, but it would effect your ability to get out of Demo the usual way.

Sorry Alan but I'm out. I'm busy, as in no riding, the next two weekends.

Sounds fun... My wife is working so I am on kid patrol all weekend. Planning to tow them in the Chariot this weekend. Maybe next time.

PS - Yes, it looks like the bridge is closed this weekend. Demo Closed this Weekend! Not a huge issue as you guys are riding up from Aptos. Just plan on back-tracking out on Ridge to the fire road. Make sure you hit up Upper Bacon on your way home.

Have fun @ Demo. The dirt should be amazing.

The dirt is perfect...best it will be until October! Should be quiet too, with the bridge at highland being closed for repairs. Probably riding Pacifica Saturday or would join you all. Have fun.

In addition to TSP Nisene/Demo on Sat, there will be a TSP Quimby->Mt. Ham->backside->return the same way ride Sunday! Yes, it is great to live in such an awesome area. Why would anyone need to venture eastward this weekend?

    what's backside?

I can't make that ride neither. I have a small window sunday, and will likely do a ride around 6am, basically mt. ham road to grant and back or down metcalf and up around coyote creek. looking for easy miles with steady grade, no steep climbs....the beginning of base training.

I'm sure you'll be happy to know that I am very close to pulling the trigger on a CX frame to build up, and ditching my 1990 Rockhopper. I did a road ride and spun out at 25mph-26mph, but 7 speed drivetrains will do that I guess. I guess I could also put roadie cranks on it and new wheels with a cassette to get 11T instead of 13T.

Looked at it on Google maps. It looks like Zombie territory, off into the boonies, has some interesting off-shoots but not sure where those end up.

Drive it. Sometimes the Internet does not do it justice. That's why cars and planes still exist

lol, I don't think I'll ever have that capability. A $10K road bike won't help.

It's only real if it's on the internet! Google can drive it, I'll see the results on their map.
