    Super Moon, Stellar Ride

With a bit of a later start than I wanted the last light dropped behind the hills about 2/3 of the way up Star lake connector and soon after the lights came on with the moon still hidden behind the peaks

With the late start we got treated to the moon rising over Jobs Sister and star lake about 60 seconds after our arrival. I brought a cheap little tripod and thought I might try some longer exposures with my point and shoot camera.

After hanging out for awhile at Star it was time to head to Freel pass, so much quicker without all the snow from 2 weeks ago. We spent maybe an hour up there, it was truly amazing how bright it was.

Riding from Freel Pass to Van Sickle at night is truly an experience you should try sometime, it's gonna be hard to beat this ride as the best of 2013 for me.

    Monument Pass

The Famous corner coming out of Killebrew Canyon.

Finally about 1:30 AM we dropped the lower section of Van Sickle and finished up about 1:45, amazing ride!

Very nice TBC. I was on that route today, have a shot of "the corner" to. My ride scenery pales now looking at your night time shots. Very cool indeed.

I'm happy I opened this thread and that you had the photographic skills to capture the evening.

Thanks for the comments, have never really tried night photography except with a flash, so there was definitely a lot of experimentation. Looking forward to the next full moon, thinking either Thunder Mountain / Horse Canyon or heading south on the TRT from Tahoe Meadows.

Holy mother of twelve baaaastards Jeff! I want to be there. Very awesome pictures. It is so damn hard to photograph the moon. Every time I try I end up with mush. Those pictures were very well done and put me there (I could feel the gentle breeze by the lake). Thanks for going to the trouble for our eyes sake.
