So where else is it raining?

Big raindrops here NE of Hollister but few and far between.

Radar looks like more may be coming.

Sorry, that was my fault. Stripped my roof of the shingles so of course it has to rain just as I finish up.

Salinas/Monterey received a couple Tenth's at most. Further South in Santa Maria some farmers reported up to an Inch.

    - WISH we would have been SO lucky!!

Sunshine + rain right now in the outskirts of Hollister. Big black cloud just to the north. Gusty winds too.

I expect this will continue to build up with thunder and lightning and maybe a torna

I'm up at UCSC and hear the roar of thunder in the distance. No rain or wind to report. But lots of puffy clouds in the sky. It is a tad humid but super nice out.

Been wondering why Weather Underground has been freezing when trying to get radar images; went directly to NOAA and got this:

    000
    NOUS66 KMTR 112336
    FTMMUX
    Message Date: Sep 12 2017 02:05:19

KMUX radar is down due to a comms issue. Estimated time of return to service is
    unknown.

Pretty sure this is the "golfball" unit by Mt Umunhum.

Wonder if it took a big lightning hit?

Fantastic lightning show NNE of Hollister right now; so far away no thunder is heard. Appears mostly cloud to cloud; nearly continuous illumination---don't need a flashlight!

From SJ would the view would probably be due east.

Worried about fires in the Diablo range.

I was hoping for thunder, lightning, rainbows and tornadoes but just got the clouds rolling by:

After the first few drops in Hollister it was nada.

That big "NNE" electrical storm did start a couple of small fires in Coe though. They weren't able to pinpoint them until late this morning. Both are now contained is the report and should be out by tomorrow AM.

Local News around Monterey County reported North of 500 lightning strikes this week and mother nature's watering truck scattered anywhere from a couple tenth's to a quarter inch in places. 5 spot-fires as a result, nothing more than a couple of acres.....

Completely sucked up, don't come here, the riding is terrible.
