Skeggs 10-21 report - canuck is in town

Today, an old friend Brad Kane was in town so we took him out to Skeggs. Brad used to live here but moved back to Calgary 8 years ago to start a family and a business. Anyway, this is his first ride back so we made sure to water the trails and groom them beforehand.

We found someone's dad roaming the highway and scavenging for lost helmets.

We set up the Canuck with a Canadian bike and it promptly succumbed to the gnar trails here. Brad cleared the Manzanita wall though and he used the far right side to do it.

There's this spot in Manzanita with a grand vista. It's here but you can't see it.

Conditions were a little bit too velcro-y IMHO.

Is the Canuck going faster than the local?

    nice pics.

Great to see the boys, 8 years and Skeggs still impresses. The trail sections are great, Blue Blossom was off the hook! Super fun afternoon, and sooooo good to see you guys.

Double D - hope it was a success.

    oh yeah: nice pics.

Yep, nice seeing you and Derek at the Skeggs Parking lot. I just came back from a ~ 3 hour ride hitting all the good spots. I ran into Andy and Erin, two recently graduated, but not yet employed fellows, at Skeggs Point. They had never been at ECdM before, so I showed them the best loop around Skeggs: down Manzanita - down Cross-cut, down Steam Donkey - down Giant Salamander and down Resolution. (oh yeah and up Gordon Mills, Cross-cut, Methusalah and El Corte de Madera). Conditions were great!

I had put my helmet on top of the car, but fortunately I heard it fall off when I left the parking lot.

Yeah, what were all those riders doing there mid-day?

I wish I could have taken more video. I got Imac skills now you now. I think we can make an instructional video of how not to jump, featuring Derek.

Go to Skeggs. It just doesn't get any better.

Here's a couple photos. Oh mah gawd, that was sweet. That's Kenny G-spot, me, bustamove, el salt, sabine, bones. The pine needles fell on the trail, got ridden on and become part of the trail to form a carpet. My white roadie kit did not get a spec on it.

The band got back together in Santa Cruz. It's only been about 8 yrs!!

Such a good ride and even better to re-connect with such good friends!

I was still on a high this morning and had to get it out of my system with a final solo run at Demo. Delicious.

I'll have my pics up lata.
