Place your bets... Old Salmon Falls Bridge crossing.

It's getting close... currently at 413' and change. <408' = dry crossing.

    9.26.18 @ 413':

Post what day and hour you think Folsom Lake will be at exactly 408' elevation. Winner gets some swag I dig up

So, how dry are we talking? Bridge dry, mud on both ends, or bridge dry and both ends completely dry, or somewhere in between?

It's not going dry this year. On October 16, when the lake is at 408.1, weather pattern is going to change. We're going to get ~15 inches of rain over the next 30 days and the snow level will hover around 5000 feet.

Dry enough to cross without getting feet wet/muddy... 408'

I'm with Hewie... I have a feeling an early storm will keep it wet for another year. But if we have a dry October, my guess is 408' and dropping on October 29th at 3pm.

Well, we may have to have someone there around the clock to determine the passibility factor. Depending on the swag quality, you may have several people vying for the goodies. Is there any way we can install a game cam on the area?

I'd also like to suggest waiting until after the November elections, this could play a huge factor in the degree of swag caliber as well (tariffs and all).

10/16 - outflow appears to holding steady - and inflow has been reduced. Typically SMUD will stop mid week releases from chili bar after Labor Day.

Based on my Strava feed, the bridge is happening (409.08' currently). I'm guessing wet feet though. Any official reports? Has the earth around the bridge changed so that the lake elevation is no longer ~408' for dry feet?

Get some of these bad boys at the edge of the dirt and hop right on the bridge. I donít see what could go wrong.

trapeze acts and no wet feet, people are making it work.

Made it yesterday afternoon. Certainly a trapeze act but only the bottom of my feet got wet. With two people it would not be a problem. North side was more difficult. Had to put the back wheel in the water on that side. Sorry about the photo quality

Was a little better than what Kooper posted this morning.

    Completely dry feet.

Also Falcon Crest to the bridge is easy to cross as well.

Disney is clear aside from one tree on flagstaff. Would be easy to clear with a hand saw.

Looks like 408.3 as of now. Should be a dry crossing for sure. Maybe I'll take care of that tree if I head up that way.

Winner!!!! I'll dig up some swag for ya! (Or buy you a couple beers at Mraz or the establishment of your choice). Nice guess. Congrats!

Now let's hope we get a couple months of use out of that bridge.

I agree, this time of year is like a bonus when you ride Salmon Falls. Riding Salmon Falls is the only reason why I miss living in Sacramento.
