If we aren't limited to trails, and if highways are fair game for this thread, then here's a photo of the Highway 17 landslide which turned a car over, blocking both lanes for a day or so, and where a member of the cleanup crew subsequently died from an accident.

    Here's a hole in Skyline.

This guy just got a job and moved out the week before from NY, when the power went out, so, he went to the store to get cancles, and on the way back, he thought he saw mud...

Whoa. All these pics are why I am hesitant to ride in the mountains right now. The scary part is that sink holes and landslides could still be occurring for months.

Wow. Game over is the right set of words!

I wondered how the weather could cause that but then I read the article kindly referenced, which explains:

The bridge is sitting on an active landslide. The slide has moved one of two columns holding up the bridge both vertically, and horizontally.

    Mission Peak ponding

Peak Trail, Mission Peak Regional Preserve, Fremont. This is the level area before the first Mill Creek Road gate and beginning of the singletrack section. Note the hikers clambering along the hillside to avoid the ponded area. Photo taken Saturday, February 25. Photo assignment: Trail and land destruction in NorCal.-photo-1-peak-trail-2017-02-25.jpg

Slide Mon- I heard that slide crossed two trails. The upper trail (I don't know the name) was posted as closed, but there was just a little mud and a tree to climb over to bypass it. Everything else in that area was primo.

Yeah, it started at the road cut on Back Ranch and took out a section of Bayview right where it meets Back Ranch. Back Ranch is rideable, Bayview is posted as closed but is passable.

I live up in Oroville. We cant get to 90% of our trails because of the whole spillway situation. Majority of our trailheads were on the other side of the dam, which who knows how long it will be until we can get over there. Going to have some serious trail cleanup and maintenance here in a few months. I will try and find a way up and get some photos this weekend.

Big Sur Bridge - screwed and won't unusable stranding hundreds of residents.

Highway 35 at Les Cumbres - apocalyptic and will take a loooong time to repair

Mt. Hamilton Road - reportedly a BIG slide up there.

Demo Forest - where art thou?

    Henry W Coe SP

This pix is from Ranger Cameron:
Photo assignment: Trail and land destruction in NorCal.-wagon-2-r65.jpg
Wagon Road near Willson Camp; barely passable by 4x4. Many of Coe's roads have similar damage in places.

Also the dam at Paradise Lake is severely damage and may be lost. (courtesy of ground squirrels?) Same story at several Of Coe's smaller ponds.

Here is a view of the land slide on the north side of Lake Natoma shot from my kayak. Those boulders are the size of mini vans. This is just one of about four spots in that area, going to be a while before it gets cleaned up.
