Sure it's an addiction, but the question remains:

Do you want to get cured?

The real question is, did you pick the frame because of the color?

Umm... it was sort of an eBay oops. I was selling some stuff on eBay and hit my "Ventana" search and there it was. I liked, threw out a low-ball bid and scored it. Saying "Did you buy it because of the color" implies some sort of premeditation that was completely lacking. When I got the email saying I won it I was surprised.

I'll put more pics up as time allows and the build progresses. I came to work late to meet FedEx and sneak a few pics so not much time.

Unfortunately I don't have the components to really give this frame what it deserves.

Been a huge V fan for a long time, just haven't been willing to drop 2 large on a frame. It will be fun once it's built up. I'll PM you when I get some time and maybe I can hook up with the Ventana ride at Slamin' Balls.

Hmm... bars, shifter, cranks, Seatpost, seat, and rear DR from the Titus. Brakes from the Monocog (which were on the Titus, but originally from the Enduro). I have an extra 29er wheelset at home.

    hmmm

New headset, new grips, new drivetrain.

I can't help it, I've got all these parts, can't let them go to waste.

No, with 2 MTBrs in the house, it means I'm jealous. The good part is that I get to help build it up with him.

    That color is hideous!

I think it would look far better with a nice thick coat of Sierra mud on it.

Oh... I'm sure it will before too long. Isn't exactly the right time of year for mud rides though. Though I'll likely get some slush on it as soon as the snow is lower to ride up by Strawberry again.

    Finally!!

    It's rolling!

here are the finished pics, I've only been able to roll around the yard so far and fine tuning needs to come. I wasn't a fan of the White Bros fork when we test rode the 29ers last summer but I'm willing to give it a second shot. This one is a couple years old but I got a killer deal on it... and the sharp machined lines of the white bros goes very well with the machines parts on the Ventana. The combo makes it all Teutonic looking... sweet IMO.

    The buildout...

Nothing impressive, and much is recycled

    Shim XT Cranks
SRAM X-9 shifters and Rear DR
    Shim XT from DR
Shim Deore Hydro Discs -- These are ancient but I love them and I've tried other disc brakes and just like these.
    Cane Creek S-3 headset

The wheels have some cheap LX hubs and Mavic 317 rims... I am planning on getting a new wheelset once the bills are paid from this last round of purchases.

    - When you figure out that you still hate the WB fork drop me a PM, I might know of a 4" REBA that would fit fine in that dandy frame.

    OOOOOOH Greeeeen

Wow! look good Oger g. I would just use those wheels for PCP drops and the such and buy a nice light set for when you go racing.

I will be interesting to see how the that older WB fork pans out. You already how a rock rides.
The climbs were greuling, never-ending sets of false summits and soul-crushing walls.
