If you look at the "performance", segments on the order 160km/hr or more? Seems...interesting.

LOL! Must be using that “pimp my stats” thingy that artificially jacks up all your data.

That's hilarious. This is why a Strava track could never be used as evidence, any tool with three minutes on their hands can make a fake one.

This is comedy gold. You could use this for MAXIMUM TROLLING if you wanted to.

This is actually a brilliant idea.
By setting up this obviously fraudulent Strava track, it's easy to say that ANY Strava track is fake. They can not be used as proof of poaching because, clearly, anything can be faked.

    Meh, I've done similar.

....by forgetting to turn the Garmin off when I get back in the truck and drive home.

Now you see it, now you don't. The original track is gone.

I wonder if this was from a helicopter, or just a modified GPS track file. I do not know how to mess with a .fit file but if you convert to .gpx you can see this would be easy to hack by converting to a spreadsheet and using Excel.

If you know what you're doing you can open them in notepad or word. I learned just enough to separate those rides with the 30mi straight line because I forgot to hit reset.

RE: the original file, it seems to me that the simplest explanation is that it really was an airplane ride. You had to zoom in to appreciate it. It started at an airport. There were no switchbacks or other sudden changes of direction. There were a lot of very smooth pretty-constant radius loops. It seems like it would be a lot easier to just take a phone or garmin up in a plane than to fabricate a GPX file with smooth curves like that. Another way to look at it is that people fly around in small planes all the time, and it's only a matter of time before some wise guy records & uploads a "ride" of this type.
