    New Format and IPad Crashes

Is anyone else having their iPad crash regularly due to the new format? It seems that with all the new advertising and backgrounds, it's having an impact on my iPad's ability to load. I'd guess that every third link, it's crashing.

Which ipad do you have? My ipad 1 crashes all the time, on lots of sites. But, its no worse on mtbr, occasional crash only.

No problems here. However while using a hotel wifi my laptop responded better than my iPad when uploading pages. Here at home it's fine.

Browsing on my iPhone is horrible. It hates the format and blinks and shifts persistently.

    Chrome, Safari, tapatalk?
    Are all your apps updated?
    Is your flash almost full?
Is yours the original with only half the working storage (i believe it's static ram as part of the CPU core) of later models?

When my iPads and iPhones crash a lot it's usually the app not the a web site. Often these steps can help!!!
Double click the home button to show the tack bar.
Then touch and hold on one of the apps on the now exposed bottom row till the task bar icons wiggle and show a minus sign in the upper left corners.
Patiently touch each minus sign till all the apps using working storage are closed. Press the home button again and restart the app that was crashing.
    Hope this helps.

Same problem when viewing mtbr in a browser on my IPad2. Using Chrome and have cleared running programs and rebooted. I thought it was Apple's way of saying it was time to give them more money and upgrade.

MTBR is terrible on the iPad, doesn't matter if it's iPad1, iPad2, iPad3, or the mini. All the blinky/flashy content on the sidebar slows page loads, the slow page loads means that you click on one thread and you get sent to a thread two up because the page hasn't fully loaded, occasionally the formatting goes all wonky and nothing is legible, etc. No way that I'm trying it on a phone.

    New Format and IPad Crashes

I use Tapatalk for 90% of my MTBRing. I almost never have issues. Very clean easy way to surf.

MTBR on my laptop and PC however is a nightmare. Absolute junk and I avoid going on MTBR when on those devices.

The new background causes the NorCal page to load slower for me, and it's impossible to respond to a post with a quote in it as the cursor jumps around and freaks out, making typing impossible. This is happening on a Pantech Android phone.

Slightly off topic, but my I-phone crashes about one in three times that it tries to open mtbr forums.

At least the Keen shoes pop up is gone, but only to be replaced by the mountain bike oregon pop up ad. I suppose is an improvement since it is at least mtb related.

No, not at all. As long as the owners and admins of MTBR continue to ignore the downward spiral their website is on, the users should be able to openly discuss the alternatives.

Yes. I crash once every 2-3 times or if more than 3 tabs are open. I run iPad v.1 and have problems with all browsers(Safari, Chrome, Mercury). Never had problems before the format change.

I couldn't agree more. Francois, are you listening? If your site is a pain in the A to use, they will find alternatives.

I think MTBR chooses not to address because, though fun and handy, Ipads/iPhones are just a fad. Within a year, everyone will be back on desktop computers thinking back on how stupid it all was back in the 2013s.

I can't read the forums with Chrome (I'm assuming some sort of adblock thing) on my vintage browsing device, I mean, Winders computah. It produces something that could have come from a BBS in 1984. So I use Firefox for mtbr and nothing else.

    This is horrible

It's not working for me AT ALL in Chrome. OMG, please fix this.

The noise to ratio has been pushing me to Pinkbike anyway...oh well.

Keep getting "400 Bad Request" errors.

Yeah, but iPads roll over things better than desktops. Desktops are better for flickability, though.

You got it totally backwards. Ipads are way more flickable - but PC's (and macs for that matter) handle the big stuff with aplomb.

I wouldn't be so harsh but I don't like this behavior either!
Tapatalk is slicker, but then we don't get the benefit of francios ads.
